THE CADILLAC THREE OPENS UP ON HOW THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL COMPARES TO THE GRAND OLE OPRY

After a successful first run last spring that saw Kip Moore headline, the return of the eagerly anticipated Highways Festival is coming back for 2024 at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall.

Taking place over two unforgettable days, Highways Festival 2024 will feature a star-studded lineup of top Country and Americana artists headlined by Brett Young and The Cadillac Three. The festival will also see Shane Smith & The Saints, Grammy-nominated The War & Treaty, Tanner Usrey, Josh Ross, BOWEN * YOUNG and William Prince all take to the stage.

Ahead of the festival taking place later this month, The Mirror has caught up with The Cadillac Three, originally known as The Cadillac Black. Sitting down with Jaren Johnston, Kelby Ray, and Neil Mason, they told us how the Royal Albert Hall compares to the iconic Grand Ole Opry, and what they think of modern-day country music.

When asked how the Royal Albert Hall in London will compare to the iconic Grand Ole Opry, the guys told us: “It’s weird because we’re all born and raised in Nashville,” adding how they didn’t know how they could compare the Opry to the Royal Albert Hall.

“It’s kind of a similar feeling, I mean, it’s very iconic and historic and exciting,” they went on, adding how they are well aware that not a lot of people get the privilege of performing in the London-based venue.

“I’ve been on-stage of the Grand Ole Opry, and the spotlights are like really bright, so I don’t know if they’ve got bright spotlights at the Royal Albert Hall,” they went on, noting how it has “a lot of history” there, adding how it will be “fun to visit” when they take to the stage later this month.

Elsewhere in our chat, the guys opened up about what inspires them the most when it comes to making music. “The things that we are going through in life,” they said candidly. “We write about things that are happening in our life and it’s kind of always been that way.”

Asked what they think about country music in 2024, they were open about the way in which the genre is progressing, with there many different sub genres that cater to more pop-country and more old-school-country. “10 years ago I’d have said 'yes, it’s going pop', now I think rock is rearing its head in some good ways and some bad ways,” they told us.

Highways 2024 will once again ignite the heart of London and extend to two days of programming on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 2024.
