RED ARROWS TROOPING THE COLOUR ROUTE MAPPED - CHECK WHEN YOU'LL SEE INCREDIBLE DISPLAY

One of the highlights of Trooping the Colour is the traditional flypast of the magnificent Red Arrows, and here you can see what time they will appear in Britain’s skies.

The team is a mainstay of the annual celebration, along with the more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians who will perform as part of the impressive Trooping the Colour spectacle. The flypast often garners incredible reactions from the Royals watching from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The final leg of their short tour is typically the most spectacular when pilots let loose colourful streams of smoke from behind their aircrafts. Today, the pilots will fly over several hundred miles of land after setting off at around 12.30pm from RAF Waddington in Lincoln. Thousands of Brits will be able to catch them in the skies above roughly 19 destinations before they return to their RAF, having delighted the royals.

The first Trooping The Colour took place during the 17th-Century reign of King Charles II in celebration of the success of the British monarchy. It is a tradition which has continued for more than 260 years.

According to the Household Division, the name 'Colours' is rooted in traditions of the British Army, as soldiers of different units donned different uniform colours.

This year, Trooping the Colour will kick off at around 10.20am, with King Charles heading to the Horse Guards Parade from Buckingham Palace . His Majesty will then receive a 41-gun salute fired from nearby Green Park before a performance by the musical troop commences.
