Formula One fans have lauded Oscar Piastri following the stunning drive that secured the McLaren star a famous victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Australian youngster shocked Charles Leclerc with a bold move on Turn One in Baku and held onto his position amid an onslaught of attacks from the Ferrari man over a pulsating race on Sunday afternoon.
Before the weekend's action, McLaren confirmed that Piastri would give way for teammate Lando Norris amid the Brit's battle for the driver's world championship against Max Verstappen.
But Piastri proved why he is widely regarded as a future world champion with an incredible performance to secure his second Grand Prix victory in the Baku sun.
And F1 fans believe that Sunday's showing has highlighted that Piastri should be the main man at McLaren, not Norris.
'Literally showing what a No 1 driver looks like,' said one fan on X.
